Growth in demand for solar energy - 24th May 2011
Integra is experiencing a rising demand for solar energy products from both the domestic and commercial markets. The appeal of the feed-in tariff, which pays customers a fee for generating power, allied to the current soaring costs of energy are driving a growth in demand.
The company, which set up Integra Solar Energy to specialise in providing solar products, offers expert a complete service to both homeowners and businesses. Using photovoltaic (PV) solar panels on available roofspace earns the customer money and saves on energy bills. Under the Government’s Feed in Tariff (FIT) deal customers earn money by generating their own electricity through PV solar panels.
They can earn up to 43.3p per kWhr for power generated for their own use and an extra 3p per kWhr for any power exported back to the grid. Customers also reduce their electricity bills by generating their own power… An average household could get up to £1000 in benefit a year by installing a simple PV system. Since its launch in April 2010 there have been more than 27,000 FIT installations across the UK and that number is growing. Integra Solar Energy offers expert, professional installation, beginning with a detailed survey to look at space available and the maximum benefits that can be achieved.
Integra owner Sam Baker said:
“There is no doubt that solar energy is a growth market at the moment. The payments from the Feed-In tariff and of course the increasing cost of electricity in the UK make providing your own solar energy irresistible.
“Homeowners benefit and so do commercial customers, especially those in businesses like care homes and offices, where demand for energy is high, all day long.”
